Syria, Iran hold high level talks

Iranian vice president Hassan Habibi opened talks in Damascus yesterday with his Syrian opposite number Abdu Halim Khaddam on Turkish-Israel military cooperation and Ankarašs military comparing in northern Iraq, official said.
They said Habibi, accompanied by a high ranking team including foreign minister Ali Abar Velayati will also discuss a controversial economic conference grouping Arab countries and Israeli in Qatar in November.
Iranian officials said that Iran would offer to hold an alternative economic conference that would exclude Israel during the talks.
