Iraqi delegation to visit Lebanon

A delegation of Iraqi businessmen will visit Lebanon, which severed diplomatic ties with Iraq in 1994, in August.
Adnan Kassar, head of the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said on July 3 that Iraq's Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industries requested to visit Lebanon, and a date was set for August 19.
Lebanon cut diplomatic relations with Iraq in 1994 after charging Iraqi diplomats with the assassination of an Iraqi opposition figure in Beirut.
A delegation of Lebanese businessmen and industrialists visited Baghdad in May 1997.
Lebanese government officials said that the visit had no political role.
