Jordan bans Israeli planes
Egypt, Business, 7/2/1997
Jordan said on June 28 it was freezing an agreemnet to allow Israeli civilian planes to land at Aqaba airport because of a disagreement with the Jewish state over security.
"The accord is frozen because of new Israeli security demands which are unacceptable," Deputy Prime Minister Jawad Anani told reporters after the weekly cabinet meeting.
He said Israel had demanded that its own security agents be based at the airport which is a matter of sovereignty," said Anani.
