Yemen concerns for its Iraqi refugees

Yemen's Minister of Expatriates Affairs Saleh Somei affirmed on Sunday concern of the ministry to resolve issues facing Iraqi refugees in Yemen.
In his meeting with officials of the Iraqi embassy and community in Yemen, Somei said that the ministry is coordinating with other concerned bodies to make procedures of seeking asylum and residence for Iraqis easy.
The meeting was organized by the Yemeni Center for Communities. Head of the center Arif Ahmed al-Raza reviewed activities of the center and its role in coordination between communities in Yemen and relevant bodies of communities affairs.
For his part, deputy ambassador of Iraq Abdul-Kadim al-Mosawai highlighted concern of the Yemeni government with issues of the Iraqi refugees and cooperation of the ministry of expatriates affairs to overcome obstacles facing them.
The official of the Iraqi community reviewed problems facing the community, saying that most members of the community are participating in the development process in Yemen.
Al-Mosawai estimated the number of the Iraqi refugees in Yemen at 11,000 refugees.
