Oman signs agreement on gas import from Iran

Oman signed an agreement on import of one billion cubic feet natural gas from Iran.
Aljazeera news network said yesterday that Oman would re-export part of the gas to the global market after refining in Oman gas refineries.
Omani minister of commerce, industries and minerals Maqbul bin Ali Sultan said the objective of the agreement was to secure gas supply to deal with the growing demand in Oman in the future.
He added that Oman and Iran study cooperation on exploration and extracting gas reserves and piping Iranian gas to Oman.
