Iran commited to full nuclear right: president
Iran-UN, Politics, 5/28/2007
Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki today defended Iran's rights enshrined in Non-Proliferation Treaty, saying in his statement to the 17th International Persian Gulf Conference that inclination of the Persian Gulf littoral states to benefit from nuclear energy proves Iran is right to take advantage of peaceful nuclear energy.
Mottaki said that the western countries always allege that Iran will make diversion from its peaceful path, adding that the world countries are dependent on oil and gas resources in the Persian Gulf region.
"Therefore, imposing any economic sanction against Iran would leave negative impacts on the economy of the countries in the region."
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad said today that the Iranian nation is in no way frightened by the enemies threats and will not withdraw from pursuance of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. The enemies are not afraid of the Iranian nuclear technology but they are afraid of the nation's rich culture, he added.
They are displeased with the use of nuclear energy by the Iranian nation in order to achieve progress, welfare, peace and development.
Ahmadi-Nejad said on Sunday that nuclear Iran will serve all freedom- seeking nations round the globe. He said all freedom seeking nations are pursuing Iran's developments and fully support the country's legitimate rights. "If the bullying powers assume that they can deprive us of success by creating obstacles they are completely wrong," he said.
Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said yesterday that ElBaradei's report on May 23 reaffirmed non-diversion of Iranian nuclear program from NPT. He said that ElBaradei in his report has declared that Tehran has let IAEA inspectors full monitoring of the nuclear program and the agency installed cameras over all Iranian nuclear sites.
"In the IAEA previous resolutions, ElBaradei had raised reprocessing at Iran's nuclear sites, but, at this report there is no mention to reprocessing which should be regarded as positive point." Hosseini said that ElBaradei also admitted that Iran has made progress in nuclear science and uranium enrichment which is among the legitimate rights of the country.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini Sunday confirmed Iran has received message from certain members of so-called Group 5+1. "German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki.
"He has stressed that the EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana should strive to settle standoff over Iran's nuclear program through negotiations and peaceful ways," the spokesman said.
He added the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon has held talks with Iranian officials and laid emphasis on resolving Iran's nuclear case through negotiations.
Asked about talks of Deputy Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council for International Affairs Javad Vaeedi in Brussels and whether Iran and EU decided to postpone talks between SNSC Secretary Ali Larijani and the EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, Hosseini said, "In a telephone talks between Larijani and Solana, the two parties agreed to postpone talks. "Time and venue of talks between Larijani and Solana will be determined later." He added Vaeedi's talks could prepare ground for Larijani-Solana future talks.
President Ahmadi-Nejad said on Sunday that the Iran nation is determined to use nuclear energy in a proper way against the wish of the big powers. "The best way for these powers is friendship with the Iranian nation instead of confrontation," he said.
He added, "These powers threaten other nations with their bombs. Instead of proper use of nuclear energy at service of humanity, they misuse it. "They have built bombs and dropped them on nations."
The president said certain powers speak of human rights in the world but they commit the highest number of murders themselves.
Ahmadi-Nejad had said on Saturday that bullying powers are ready to accept Iran's nuclear rights on the condition that Iran blindly pursues their views on global issues. He said that they expect Iran to keep silent and even approve of their illegal actions, atrocities and crimes committed by the Israelis in Palestine and not to protest against bloodbath in Iraq which is the outcome of the continued occupation.
He said that if Iran made no objection to their illegal actions, there would be no sign of Islamic Revolution and Israel would dominate the entire region. He said that Iranian nation has found the path and will never yield to big powers and if they insist on their illogical demands, it will lead to misery, destruction and eternal humiliation.
The Europeans have called off their nuclear pact with Iran, a reference to Siemens of Germany which cancelled the agreement with Iran in 1979 after triumph of the Islamic Revolution, "but, today, the Iranian nation declares with pride that it has attained technological know-how to produce fuel at industrial scale."
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini on Friday reacting to US officials' recent remarks on Iran's nuclear rights called them biased and illogical. The spokesman added "Using such phrases as 'wayward behavior of Iran', and 'unheeding the demands of others', are among the arrogant literature employed by US officials to manipulate the world public opinion against Iran's righteous stands."
He reiterated, "The great Iranian nation's emphasis on the need to achieve its absolute nuclear rights relying on its own indigenous achievements and its scientific advancement.
Provisional Friday Prayer Leader of Tehran said IAEA Chief Muhamed ElBaradei on his recent report confessed Iran has entered world nuclear club, as we had earlier said so many times, facing their denials.
Addressing worshipers, Hojjatoleslam Ahmad Khatami added, "ElBaradei also confessed there has been no evidence to show any deviation in Iran's nuclear activities towards forbidden objectives, which again is repeating the Iranian officials' often repeated emphases." He reiterated, "Based on such obvious confessions, the matter should have been considered finalized, but we still witness the continuous antagonist stands adopted by the United States and Britain."
Iran's President Ahmadi-Nejad stressed Friday that "Those are the oppressor powers that have to prove their good will to Iran, not vice versa." "Today the entire world suspects the good will of those powers, and under such conditions they speak of the need for Iran to prove its good will, asking us to suspend our peaceful nuclear activities to prove it!"
He emphasized, "Whatever you say today is suspicious, and so long as its authenticity is not proved, the entire world nations would be in doubt about them," adding, "For instance, in Iran, not even a single individual would believe anything you say anymore." The president reiterated, "Your objective in putting forth such proposals is to cheat the Iranian nation, but as soon as we suspend our nuclear activities you would launch a new psychological war against us, taking advantage of your entire propoganda means."
Ahmadi-Nejad said that Iran will turn into an exporter of nuclear fuel. Ahmadi-Nejad said "We will not only continue the work on centrifuges, but will also increase the fuel cycle to become an exporter of nuclear fuel." He underlined that Iranians will not back down even one step from their indisputable rights in the field of civilian nuclear activities.
Describing resolutions issued by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to impose sanctions on Iran as ineffective, he added that the sanctions will definitely be harmful for the "bullying powers and their allies."
Head of the Supreme National Security Council added that the opponents of Iranians in the way of attaining peaceful nuclear energy should know that such attempts will never bear fruits for them to persuade Iran halt its nuclear activities."
