Egypt welcomes Iran call for resumption of ties

Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit has welcomed President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad's call for resuming bilateral ties, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini had said when asked yesterday about an announcement from Egypt's Foreign Ministry on Egypt's readiness to resume relations with Iran with no precondition.
"Egyptian foreign minister has made an oral message and welcomed President Ahmadi-Nejad's call for resumption of ties," he said.
The spokesman added, "Abul Gheit has called on his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki to pursue the case in future talks."
