Ahmadi-Nejad in Oman, oil and gas deals with Iran

Senior Iranian and Omani officials today signed accords on oil and gas cooperation.
The accords were signed by Iran's Oil Minister Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh and Omani Minister of Commerce and Industry Maqbool bin Ali Sultan during Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad's two-day visit to Oman.
The accords included bilateral cooperation on development of a gas field in Iran with Oman's investment, construction of a gas pipeline from Iran to Oman, cooperation in production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and its sale and development of "Hengam" joint gas field.
Iran and Oman also agreed to set up a joint company for mutual oil cooperation.
Vaziri-Hamaneh and Sultan also signed agreements on transfer of gas from northern Iran's neighboring states to Oman.
President Ahmadi-Nejad wound up his visit to Oman and left Muscat for Tehran today. While in Muscat, He held talks with Omani Sultan Qaboos and met with Iranian and Omani businessmen and Iranian nationals residing in Oman as well as officials of Iran's mission to Muscat.
Sultan Qaboos said during the meeting, "Throughout history superpowers have resorted to divide and rule policy tried to penetrate in other countries and we should beware not to be trapped by them ...Today we all should focus on, and spend our efforts aimed at restoration of peace and security in the region."
Sultan Qaboos further stressed, "Lack of trust among regional countries is the greatest obstacle in the way of strengthening the foundations of peace and understanding."
