Egypt Bourse grew 1,380% in four years

Maged Shawki, Head of the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchange declared during, the annual conference of the National Council for Planning on Sunday, that a wide segment of the population had a growing interest in Egypt's stock exchange.
The conference was held under the rubric: the Egyptian Stock Exchange, Challenges and Aspirations.
He added that a some of 450,000 investors entered the stock exchange in the past two years, making up some two-thirds of registered investors.
The bourse achieved a 1,380 percent growth rate through the past four years and trading jumped ten-fold, reaching LE 287 billion in 2006, against LE 28 billion in 2003.
