Marchers urge regional states to help establish peace in Iraq
Iraq-Iran, Politics, 2/11/2007
At the end of the Bahman 22 rally held in Tehran Sunday marking the 28th victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the participants urged all regional states to help establish peace and security in Iraq.
In their 7-article resolution, they denounced the sacrilege of holy shrines in the holy city of Samarra, Iraq, and voiced their readiness to participate in reconstruction of the holy sites there.
They referred to the US and British occupation forces as the main cause of violence, terror and insecurity in Iraq and called for unconditional withdrawal of the occupiers from Iraq.
They underscored the need for consolidation of solidarity between Shiite and Sunni Muslims and condemned any move to create tension between these two main Islamic sects.
