US supports Egypt's peaceful nuclear program

Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit on Saturday received US State Department Under-Secretary for Arms Control and International Security Robert Joseph, who is now visiting Egypt.
Joseph, in statements after the meeting, said that his talks with the Egyptian top diplomat took up means of boosting cooperation in the peaceful nuclear energy and Egypt's plans on this score. The talks also dealt with challenges associated with the prevention of nuclear proliferation, with emphasis on the Iranian and North Korean nuclear files, he added.
As for his country's stance towards the Egyptian peaceful nuclear program, Joseph said that Washington was supporting Egypt in this respect. The US is encouraging Egypt to go ahead in its peaceful nuclear program, he pointed out.
