Fiqi calls for public-owned channels

"Media freedom could only be realized if channels became a public property," said Egypt's Information Minister Anas Al- Fiqi last week at a seminar on the role of media in reform issues, noting that media should be given a bigger chance to achieve more freedom and independence as the Arab media is undergoing a transitional Stage.
