Iran major steps on national nuclear program: VP
Iran-Regional, Politics, 11/13/2006
Iran's First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi said that Iran has taken major steps on national nuclear program and that those opposing Iran have failed to take a logical stance toward Iran.
"Iran acquired nuclear technology with reliance upon its own youth," Davoudi said while addressing local people of Nehbandan city in the eastern province of South Khorassan.
Pointing to the 10-day military maneuver held by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in the Persian Gulf and the Oman Sea, he said, "In the Great Prophet maneuver, we displayed our power to superpowers to prove that they can do nothing against Iran."
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad yesterday had said that it was shameful for the United Nations Security Council to open a case on Iran's peaceful nuclear activities. "It is shameful that the Security Council opens file against and threatens governments that are after production of nuclear fuel for peaceful purposes based on rules and regulations," he said.
On Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's reservations about magnitude of Holocaust, vice-president Davoudi said the United States and the Zionist regime have been shaken by the challenge about magnifying extent of the human tragedy and why the Palestinian or Lebanese people should pay the price for the Nazi crime against Jews.
