Palestinian unity government fail so far
Palestine, Politics, 10/6/2006

Palestinian President Abbas' Media Advisor, Nabil Amr, said today that the speech of Prime Minisiter Ismael Hanniya "has nothing new."

He said that the speech is full of escalation, stressing Hanniya has not addressed any of the great questions, such as the economic deterioration, the Palestinian arena witnesses now.

Amr added that the numbers the PM mentioned regarding the financial situation are not meticulous, adding that he the PM did not speak about the increasing security disorder.

He affirmed that President Abbas will continue his efforts to find a solution to the current crisis, asserting that President Abbas gave the dialogue more time than it really needs and no results were touched though.

Presidency Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rdaina said today that President Mahmoud Abbas has never been against forming a national unity government.

Commenting on PM Hanyyia's call on President Abbas to come to Gaza to resume talks from which they stopped, Abu Rdaina said President Abbas never stood against forming a national unity government, a government that abide by signed agreements between the PLO and Israel as well as the Arab Peace Initiative.

Abu Rdaina stressed that the call to resume dialogue should be within a specific schedule of time not just for talks.

Amr said if the government will not fully harmonize with the programs of President Abbas and the PLO and the Arab Peace Initiative within the next two weeks, the president will use other alternatives to evade the Palestinian people more deterioration.

Israel's Prime Minister Ehud Olmert had said that he is willing to assist President Abbass in implementing the Roadmap and in creating a better atmosphere.
