Iran nuclear delegation in Moscow
Iran-Russia, Politics, 8/22/2006

A high-ranking delegation of Iranian nuclear officials, headed by the Executive Director of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mahmoud Jannatian, arrived today.

Upon arrival in Moscow, Jannatian told reporters that during his stay in Russia, he and Russian officials would discuss meeting Bushehr nuclear power plant fuel shortage.

Asked to comment on an agreement between Tehran and Moscow on delivery of nuclear fuel to Iran, Jannatian said that an agreement had already been reached between Tehran and Moscow to that effect and the Iranian and Russian officials would in their meetings take the quality of fuel shipment to Iran into consideration.

He said Tehran is ready for speedy settlement of issues related to nuclear fuel delivery to Bushehr nuclear power plant and for starting the transfer project.

Calling Russia as Iran's `reliable partner,' Jannatian said had Iran not held such a belief, it would not have signed the agreement for the fuel delivery and no such a visit by Iranian delegation would have taken place.

Head of Bushehr project Ali Reza Moradian is also a member of the Iranian delegation to Russia.

The Iranian delegation is scheduled to visit a nuclear reactor outside Moscow which is similar to Bushehr reactor from technical aspects.
