Ahmadi-Nejad: Leaders of US, Britain, Israel should stand trial
Lebanon-Iran-UN, Politics, 8/16/2006

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad today said that the leaders of US, Britain and Israel should stand trial as war criminals.

Speaking at a public gathering in the provincial city of Khalkhal, the president said that due to their support for and participation in the crimes committed in Lebanon, these two countries should be introduced to international tribunals by the United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan.

Turning to the UN Security Council as an instrument in the hands of big powers, he said that the US and Britain are not qualified to attend international assemblies such as UNSC and that they should be expelled from it.

The chief executive congratulated Hizbullah's victory over the Zionist regime in Lebanon and stated, "The resistance of Hizbullah ended the myth that the Zionist regime and its supporters are invincible and revealed their real vicious face to the world as so-called advocates of democracy."

"The victory and heroic resistance of Hizbullah in Lebanon are highly valuable to the world of Islam, given that such a victory revived the human respect and personality all over the world."

"Through its resistance and self-sacrifice, Lebanon's Hizbullah defended and revived the common sense of the humanity. The freedom-loving nations' support for Hizbullah is their support for the human respect, rights and worship of God Almighty," he added.

Ahmadi-Nejad said that it was witnessed in Lebanon that the US, Britain and Israel -- equipped with their most advanced arsenals and support of propagandist media -- stand on one side, while on the other there were a number of faithful youth who managed to make the warmongering leaders kneel down before them in a fully unequal war.

Warning the UN, the president called on this international body to watch the crimes of these powers in future, which they are undoubtedly determined to commit to compensate their terrible defeat.

Meantime, the United States and Britain are responsible for blood of all killed Lebanese and destruction of its civilian infrastructure as they prevented an earlier resolution of the UN Security Council calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani said yesterday.

Larijani made the remarks while speaking to reporters after a meeting with China's assistant foreign minister for disarmament and the United Nations affairs, Cui Tiankai. "This shows that the US administration has a liberal appearance but there is a fascist will behind liberalism," he said.
