Egypt-Israel tourist promotion accord suspended

"Egyptian Tourism ministry had suspended all accords signed with Israel on the tourist promotion due to its aggression on Lebanon," Minister of Tourism Zohir Garana said yesterday in addressing a press conference following a tour of the Tourism and Shopping Festival in Cairo that due to run till August 20th.
The Minister added all celebrations due to be held on the occasion of Tourism and Shopping Festival this year was canceled.
Garana said the Israeli war on Lebanon adversely affected the Egyptian tourist industry as shown in the drop of foreign tourists inflow to Egypt, but the rise on the number of Arab tourists made up some losses.
Garana said the circumstances of the region is currently going through have affected the festival, referring to the cancellation of art shows that are usually held on its sidelines.
