Sherif: Israel's aggression on Lebanon clears state terrorism

"Israel's aggression on Lebanon was the culmination of state terrorism," Egypt's Secretary-General of the National Democratic Party and Shura Council speaker Safwat El-Sherif said in addressing NDP youths at Abu Qeir Camp in Alexandria.
Sherif furthermore accused the international community of favouring Israel.
He said the NDP condemned Israel's aggression and called on the international community to put the perpetrators of Qana massacre on trial as war criminals.
El-Sherif called on the Arab community to be vigilant in the face of ideas propagating the so-called "new Middle East" which, Sherif asserted, neither Israel nor any other state would be able to impose on the Arab peoples.
Sherif added that the Arab joint defence pact and economic cooperation agreements were now extinct, pointing out that Egypt must be aware of the dimensions of conspiracies in the region.
He said that President Hosni Mubarak was keen on ceding some powers of the President to the cabinet and judiciary with to empower local councils.
Finally, the NDP youths issued a statement at the end of the meeting condemning the aggression on the brotherly Lebanese people and denounced the silence of the international community towards Israel's massacres in Lebanon.
