US demonstrators protest in support of Lebanon
Lebanon-Israel-USA, Politics, 7/29/2006

Thousands of demonstrators here Friday called on the US government not to hinder establishment of ceasefire in Lebanon and to help stop the massacre of Muslims.

The demonstrators gathered in front of the United Nations headquarters and then headed for Times Square.

A number of Jews and Christians accompanied protesters, who were carrying flags of Lebanon and Palestine as well as pictures of Hizbullah chief Hassan Nasrallah and late leader of Palestinians Sheikh Ahmad Yasin.

Women and children also took part in the demonstration, chanting slogans such as "US should leave the Middle East" and "Lebanon and Palestine should be freed."

The protesters called for the cessation of Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Palestine and for an end to the atrocities of Israel.
