German foreign affairs committee to meet on Lebanon conflict
Lebanon-Israel-Germany, Politics, 7/18/2006
German lawmakers will have to interrupt their summer vacation and return to Berlin for special session because of the escalating Israeli military attacks in Lebanon, DPA reported today. The faction of the Left (Linke) Party had called for this, citing the threat of an imminent war in the region.
The foreign affairs committee is chaired by Ruprecht Polenz of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU).
