Expansion of ties with Muslim states, priority of Iran
Libya-Iran, Politics, 7/15/2006
Imam's grandson Seyed Hassan Khomeini today said that " the Zionist regime has proved that it is not committed to any international and human laws."
In a meeting with the Libya's outgoing ambassador to Iran, Ali Mahmoud Mariah, Khomeini said "even if one percent of such crimes which are committed in Lebanon and Palestine had been committed in Western countries, the entire world would have shown reaction to it and even military intervention would not be impossible."
Strongly condemning the Zionist regime's atrocities, he urged international bodies not to remain silent toward such crimes.
As to Iran-Libya close cooperation, Hassan Khomeini stressed that expansion of ties with Muslim states is a priority of the Iranian government. Tehran attaches great importance to its ties with Tripoli.
For his part, Mariah reported on his activities during his five-year tenure as ambassador to Iran and said he made his best to broaden mutual ties.
Expansion of relations with Iran, as a civilized country which enjoys a rich culture, has always been an objective of the Libyan government and nation, he added.
