Qatar circulates draft UN resolution demanding Israel stop offensive

The UN Security Council was to discuss a draft resolution circulated by Qatar, on behalf of Arab nations, demanding that Israel stop its offensive in the Gaza Strip and release the Palestinian ministers, legislators and other officials it has captured.
The resolution calls on Israel to "scrupulously abide by its obligations and responsibilities under the Geneva Convention," and expresses its "grave concern about the dire humanitarian situation of the Palestinian people.
