Butaflika demands France acknowledge crimes of its colonialism

The Algerian President, Abdelaziz Butaflika renewed his demand that France must bear its responsibility over the crimes and tragedies committed by the French colonialism against the Algerian people and to acknowledge these tragedies and crimes and to apologize for that.

In his letter addressed to the participants in the international reunion about" Colonialism between historical fact and political dispute " currently held in the Algerian capital President Butaflika underlined that unless France bears that responsibility with historical honesty and acknowledges those tragedies with responsible moral conscience and to apologize with boldness, that period will remain a dark spot in the history of colonialist France.

This underlines the Leader's view that colonialism is a failed reactionary historical project and that all countries to demand apology and compensation from the colonial nations. President Butaflika stressed, in his letter reported by the Algerian News Agency Sunday, that this right is a historical right and that it is not the cause of Algerian people alone and that colonialism is condemned by its nature and that colonialism is always evil.
