Sudan, Chad presidents meet, thank Qathafi

Upon an initiative by the high and permanent sponsor of peace in Cen-Sad Space and beyond, the Libyan Leader Muammar al-Qathafi, President of the Conference of Leaders and Heads of State of Cen-Sad Community, President Omar Hassan al-Bashir of Sudan and President Idris Deby of Chad met at the Leader's residence in the Gambian capital Banjul.

During this meeting, the causes of tension in relations between the two countries were discussed with all responsibility and transparency.
Both Presidents, Al-Bashir and Deby underlined their adherence to Tripoli Declaration and Accord and the importance of the Qathafi's pioneering role in restoring normal relations between both countries and eliminating all causes of tension.

The two presidents agreed to form a bi-lateral committee to meet in the near future to lay down all necessary measures to restore and normalize their relations.

Qathafi expressed his high appreciation of the responsible spirit of both presidents and their positive response to Qathafi's initiative to hold this meeting, praising the positive and practical results reached which confirm their keen desire to preserve brotherly ties between the two peoples and the need to maintain security, peace and stability within the Community's space.

President Bashir and President Deby conveyed thanks appreciation and gratitude to the Leader, saluting his pioneering and outstanding role in healing the drift and restoring peace and stability between the two neighbors.
