Abbas: Arafat was a hero

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas asserted on inalienable rights of the Palestinian people reiterated on the illegality of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories in 1967.
During a ceremony at An-Najah University in the northern West Bank city of Nablus,
Abbas asserted that the Leadership demand implementing the UN resolution of right of return of the Palestinian refugees.
Regarding the Israeli pressure on the Palestinian people and leadership, Abbas recounted the steadfastness of late President, Yasser Arafat.
He said that Arafat as the first Palestinian man of peace and the greatest pragmatic man in the world especially among the Palestinian people.
Abbas, who was awarded the honor doctorate degree from the university, mentioned that despite the Israeli pressure against Arafat and his siege for years in his office, Arafat did not give up the Palestinian rights.
