AU president: US should not support to warlords in Somalia

The current president of the African Union, Denis Sassou N'Guesso, President of the Republic of Congo held talks Monday with the US president, George W. Bush, in Washington.

N'Guesso pointed out that these talks dealt with the situation in Somalia and the need to have the cooperation of all countries with the African Union in its efforts to establish peace and preserve the unity of this African country.

" Washington should not provide support to war lords in Somalia, rather it must help the Somali people to stabilize their government in Mogadishu," he said.
