LE38 billion Egyptian-Qatari free zones to be established

Chairman of the General Authority for Industrial Development Amr Assal said it was agreed on setting up an Egyptian-Qatari industrial zone comprising international industrial companies working in different industrial sectors.
The zone will be established in Alexandria on an area of 800 feddans and at investments of LE10 billions.
Another LE28-billion zone will be established in Port Said governorate on an area of 2500 feddans. 2.7 million Square meters were allocated for setting up major industrial projects to produce cement in addition to establishing projects for producing steel on an area of 1.5 million square meters and at capital of LE1.8 billion.
Assal said the Authority plans to establish six new industrial zones in line with President Mubarak's electoral platform aiming at establishing 1000 new plants.
