Iraq-Pakistan, Local, 5/29/2006
Pakistan-Iraq killing Two Pakistani drivers, who were kidnapped in the Iraq last week, have been killed and their bodies sent to Kuwait for repatriation to the country, a TV channel reported on Monday.
Nasir Iqbal and Muhammd Munir were kidnapped when they were returning to Kuwait from Iraq, Geo television reported.
There is no official confirmation of the deaths. The Foreign Office said yesterday that efforts were initiated to trace the kidnapped men after reports of their abduction appeared in the media.
Reports suggest that the kidnapped Pakistanis were working for a Kuwait-based American transport company. One section of the same company is also working in Iraq.
Geo television reported that dead bodies of the two men would be repatriated to Pakistan on Tuesday. The Foreign Office has reiterated an earlier advisory telling Pakistanis to avoid travel to Iraq.
Two Pakistani nationals were killed in Iraq in July 2004 after they were kidnapped by a militant group.
