Egypt gives full details of Dahab bombing operation

Egypt's Ministry of Interior Tuesday yesterday disclosed the full details of terrorist operations which were carried out in Dahab and Al Goura region on April 24.

The Ministry said that those operations were carried out by elements belonging to Al Tawheed and Al Jihad group which was led by Nassr Khamiss Al Malahi adding that the three elements who carried out the bombings and killed in them were Ahmed Mohamed Al Koreimy, Mohamed Abdel Aziz Nafe'i and Attallah Al Qarm.

Reports indicate that 22 terrorists were apprehended and seven were killed including the commander of the group in the Security confrontations.

It transpired that terrorists used explosive materials from the remains of the previous wars. Confessions by elements apprehended showed that fundamentalist Palestinian elements supplied the terrorist group with funds; a mobile telephone connected with Israeli telecommunications network and those Palestinian elements trained terrorists on manufacturing explosives and using arms.

Elements of the terrorist group gave detailed confessions showing that three defendant brothers namely Monir, Ayman and Youssry Mohareb opened channels of contact with Palestinian elements and met them in occupied' territories and Arish.

Palestinian citizen Tammer Nosairat expressed his willingness to assist them in carrying out hostile operations inside Egypt. Then, terrorist Nassr Khamiss sought to facilitate the travel of the three self-bombers, who were killed in Dahab bombings, to Gaza for receiving training on the use of arms and explosives.

A security source told Al -Ahram that terrorist Youssry Mohareb gave stirring confessions on the role of Palestinian elements in the group.

He said those Palestinians congratulated the command of the terrorist group following Dahab bombings.

Mohareb made it clear in 'his confessions that Palestinians paid 1500 dollars and LE 10,000 to the operatives who carried out the bombings.

He said this money was collected from selling golden wares and the funds collected as donation for assisting the families of the Palestinian martyrs.

Confessions showed that the three self-bombers entered Dahab on April 24 morning in a half truck vehicle laden with vegetables, with explosives in their possession hidden in a hand bag.

The operatives remained in a grocery shop until the time set for carrying out the operation, Confessions made by Mohamed Abdullah Abu Harir showed that Malahi was the mastermind of the bombings assisted by Ahmed Mosleh and Abdullah Salem for polarizing other terrorists.

Confessions showed that terrorist Malahi managed to restructure Al Tawheed and Al Jihad group, where he collected 40 of the fugitive elements and rehabilitated them intellectually, physically and inculcated in them that Jihad and martyrdom were legitimate under the pretext that all the state bodies were rallying against Islam.

Confessions showed also that those terrorists were planning to destroy facilities, to kill innocents, to undermine stability and to strike economy under the pretext that the state bodies are acting against Islam.
