Hariri: Lebanese have no choice but dialogue
Lebanon-Syria-UN, Politics, 5/19/2006

Lebanese Parliament member and political leader Saad Hariri said Lebanon is at a cross roads with a golden chance to rebuild the country.

He said there is an opportunity to cement Lebanon's democracy, away from attempts to keep the country as a regional and international score-settling conflict zone.

Hariri vowed speaking in the UAE to work hard to keep Lebanon united.

Meantime, The Lebanese Daily Star reported today that "50 members of the Damascus-based group Fatah al-Intifada entered Lebanese territory early Thursday, witnesses said. Pro-Syrian Palestinian militants from Syria sent troops and military vehicles into eastern Lebanon overnight, following clashes that broke out a day earlier, police said Thursday."

This comes as Syria's president Bashar al-Assad said yesterday that the UN resolution 1680 as a blow to national sovereignty of two independent countries forcing them to set up political relations and demarcation of a frontier line.

He said such measures are the outcome of interference of big powers in the United Nations which constitutes blatant violation of international law and regulations.
