Egypt overpopulation a risk for development

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak said the aim of his tour abroad is to serve the national interests of Egypt in pursuing efforts for securing an honorable life for all categories of the Egyptian people.
Mubarak said the National Democratic Party is doing its best to implement its program, adding that his platform needs six years to be carried out, referring to giant efforts which are exerted for building factories, land reclamation, establishing projects, providing job opportunities, solving the problem of unemployment and increasing exports.
The President said overpopulation in Egypt is a risk which threatens development adding had it not been for writing off debts in 1991; they would have reached 80 billion dollars.
The President said his visits abroad aim at enhancing Egypt's relations, developing economic relations, opening new markets for exporting products, establishing projects for absorbing labor adding he is keen to have consultations on regional and international issues prominent of which is the issue of peace in the Middle East, the Iranian nuclear file and the Syrian-Lebanese file.
