EU official said aid to Palestinian to about be set up

Benita Ferrero Valdner, the EU Commissioner for External Relations and Neighborhood Policy met Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak yesterday and said that an international mechanism is about to be set up for assisting the Palestinian people, pointing out that this would be the main topic of discussion during the Quartet meeting.
She said the EU is committed to the Roadmap adding that the Israeli and Palestinian sides should get involved in negotiations on the map. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is willing to go ahead on this issue adding that there is a new Israeli government hoped to be prepared to move forward, Valender said.
