Algeria-Iran, Politics, 5/3/2006
The secretary-general of Algeria's Labor Party, Louisa Hanoune today in Algiers expressed strong solidarity with the Iranian government and nation on the country's nuclear program.
She said on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of Iran's first exclusive industrial exhibition in Algeria that "Algeria's Labor Party and nation are in full and not conditional solidarity with the Iranian people and government."
Hanoune declared her interest in technical and industrial issues, but said she attended the exhibition only to express solidarity and support for Iran's economic and industrial development, including its peaceful nuclear energy program, and for its desire to conduct its affairs independently and without interference by outside powers.
She criticized the US and its western allies for the threats and pressure they were imposing on Iran, and said she was following up Iran developments to the letter.
The secretary-general wished success for Iran in its struggle for political and economic independence.
Algeria, a country which also seeks to economic and political independence and progress, attaches special significance to Iran developments, she said.
She also praised the economic and industrial progress achieved by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Iranian Deputy Minister of Industries Mehdi Mofidi.
Algerian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Rachid Harraoubia today also said that Iran's industrial potentials and progress are a source of pride for all Muslim nations and governments.
