Iran's nuclear progress, source of honor for Muslims worldwide

Scientific progress and achievements of Iranian scientists in the field of nuclear technology are a source of honor for Muslims throughout the world, Lebanese and Palestinian officials said yesterday.

The officials made the remark in a ceremony held here on the occasion of the third martyrdom anniversary of founder of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas. Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and a top Hamas leader Abdel-Aziz al-Rantissi.

During the ceremony, Assistant Leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Talal Naji, said the Palestinian people would support Iran's program to have access to peaceful nuclear technology.

He praised Iran's strategy on Palestine's ideals and the ountry's support for the oppressed Palestinians under current sensitive circumstances.

Deputy chief of Lebanese Hizbullah for political affairs Hossein Alhaj Khalil also praised Iran's strategy and foreign policy in support of the Palestinians' rights.

All regional states, which seek independence and dignity, support Iran's policy of achieving self-sufficiency and real independence, he said, adding these states were happy with Iran's recent nuclear achievement.

He said failure of Hamas is a top priority for Israel and the US while Arab and Muslim states call for success of the elected Palestinian government.

The Hizbullah official called on all regional nations to make efforts to disclose US claims on establishment of democracy and freedom and observation of human rights.
