Jaafari seeks to stay in office

The Guardian unlimited reported today that Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari asked today the Shiite alliance that chose him for the position to reconfirm their support, by him not stepping aside, but putting the issue in their hand once again.
