PLO expresses deep concern for Israeli measures to isolate Jerusalem
Palestine-Israel-European Union, Politics, 4/6/2006
WAFA reported that "PLO Executive Committee (EC) today expressed deep concern for the Israeli measures to isolate Jerusalem city and turning its neighboring villages and towns into cantons."
It added "During a meeting at the Presidential HQ in Ramallah city, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, the Executive Committee affirmed that Israeli measures are a serious breach to the international humanitarian law and a violation to the international legitimacy."
Wafa said "It added that such step is a new Apartheid system aiming at defacing any efforts to reach a balanced solution between the Palestinian and Israeli sides. The EC discussed the Palestinian refugees' condition in Lebanon and commended the Lebanese government decision to supply refugees' camps with basic and humanitarian services."
Wafa said "It also decided to form a special commission to follow up and reactivate International Court of Justice advisory opinion regarding the Israeli construction of the Apartheid Wall and its consequences on Palestinian communities."
