Qathafi calls Africans to ask colonial powers compensation
Libya-Italy, Politics, 4/6/2006

The Libyan leader col. Muammar al-Qathafi called on the African countries to ask former African colonizers compensations. He urged the Senegalese to file a case against France of exploiting them in the front of fighting during the French colonialism of Senegal and parts of the African continent.

In a speech before the parliament of Senegal, Qathafi stressed the need that every family in Senegal file a case in court asking compensation for their relatives who were killed in all parts of the world as a result of France's exploitation of them and their fighting beside it.

He considered that the filed case is a legal right for all the people of Senegal, stressing that this is a legal and civilian request that should be raised by all families, regardless of getting the government of Senegal involved in that.

The speech of the Libyan leader lasted for more than one and a quarter hours. In this speech, Qathafi opposed defining the term of presidency in Africa and voiced support for the Africans use of languages spoken in the continent with the aim of maintaining direct contacts instead of foreign languages.

Qathafi arrived in Dakar on Monday and on Tuesday and took part in the celebrations of the 46th anniversary of the independence of Senegal to which the Presidents of Gabon, Congo, and other African countries were invited. On Friday Qathafi will be leaving for Mali where he will be visiting Timpicto on the occasion of the prophet Muhammad's birth anniversary.
