Mubarak seeks implementation of election promises
Egypt, Politics, 3/28/2006
Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak said that he has instructed the government to draw up timetables for carrying out his electoral platform over the next six years.
At his meeting with parliamentary body members from the Sharqiya and Menoufiya governorates, Mubarak said that 89 new factories will be set up in and instructed the government to advertise for vacant posts in the different state bodies.
Mubarak said that representatives have the right to express their opinion frankly, adding that party commitment does not place any restrictions on freedom of expression over social issues.
He said that neither corruption nor corrupt people will be harbored, adding that the government should take the initiative to uncover corruption.
