NY Times: Bush was determined to make war against Iraq

The New York Times (NYTimes.com) reported yesterday that prior to the US attack on Iraq, US president George W. Bush gave Iraq a blunt ultimatum "disarm or face war" with Bush "certain that war was inevitable."

The New York Times report based on a British confidential memo by British prime minister Tony Blair's top foreign policy adviser, and reviewed by the New York Times.

The 5 page top secret memo whose authenticity has been confirmed by senior British officials "also shows that the president and the prime minister acknowledged that no unconventional weapons had been found inside Iraq. Faced with the possibility of not finding any before the planned invasion, Mr. Bush talked about several ways to provoke a confrontation" the New York Times report said.
