Lebanese Ex-PM calls Arab summit to support Syria
Lebanon-Syria, Politics, 3/28/2006
Lebanese Ex-Premier Salim al-Hoss on Monday called upon the 18th Arab Summit, held in the Sudanese Capital of Khartoum, to support Syria politically and economically to face US and Israeli pressures against her.
"Arab citizens feel the absence of the Arab decisive stance regarding Arab decisive issues," al-Hoss said in a statement given to the Sudanese News Agency SUNA, pointing out that the Arab Summit is being held under a crucial Arab situation.
He indicated that a "Zionist and imperialist project" to dismantle the Arab world has started in Iraq, saying "the US is practicing terrorism in the world and it is against democracy, and its rejection of the Palestinian elections is an obvious evidence."
