Syria's Foreign Minister Walid al-Muaallem on Monday discussed with Cyprus Foreign Minister George Iacovou bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries, issues related to the Syrian-European relations and means of developing them.
On the sidelines of Khartoum preparatory meetings of the Arab Foreign Ministers, Muaallem met with Iacovou for talks on the latest developments in the region, mainly in Iraq and Palestine.
Later, Muaallem discussed with his Cuban counterpart Felipe Perz Roque the latest developments in the region and means of bolstering the bilateral relations between Syria and Cuba.
The Cuban Minister conveyed greetings of President Fidel Castro of Cuba to President Bashar al-Assad, asserting his country's support to Syria's just stances.
He hailed Syria's effective role in the Non-Alignment Movement (NAM).
Muaallem stressed the deep-rooted historic relations between Syria and Cuba since they are standing in one trench for facing challenges they are exposed to.
