American raid on the ministry of interior in Iraq

The Iraqi police said that the American forces raided the headquarters of the ministry of interior in Baghdad and detained 40 police men after the discovery of 17 non Iraqi prisoners in a secret complex in the building.

The police added that the American forces seized the security members to investigate them.

It was not clear who those foreigners are, but the Iraqi government launched a campaign against the Sunni foreign fighters who have come from Arab states accused of carrying out suicide explosions that killed thousands of Iraqis.

In 2005, the American forces found 173 persons most of them are Arab Sunni prisoners in a secret complex for the ministry of interior in Iraq in a scandal embarrassed the government with signs of torture and malnutrition.

The Arab Sunni leaders accuse the forces of the ministry of interior of coordinating with Shiite militias for running an execution team. An accusation denied by the ministry.

Meantime, a source in the Iraqi ministry of interior said that the Iraqi authorities detained one officer in the army after accusing him of taking part in the assassination groups in Baqouba, northeast of Baghdad. Arkan al-Bawi whose brother runs a police center in Deyali was detained on charge of working in Baqouba assassination teams.
