Lahoud's legitimacy questioned for being in the Arab summit
Lebanon-Regional, Politics, 3/27/2006

The resumption of the inter- Lebanese dialogue today comes one day after the Lebanese parliamentary majority discounted the legitimacy of the representation of the President Emil Lahoud to the Arab summit to be held in al-Khartoum next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Prior to the resumption of the fourth round of the dialogue, the parliamentary majority (71 parliamentarian out of 127) said in a message addressed to the Arab kings and leaders, participants in the summit that Lahoud's representation for Lebanon's seat in the summit "is constitutionally illegal" because his presence in the post of the Lebanese presidency was a result of the compulsory extension for the forces of intervention of Syria, in the person of the President of the Republic, and its security leadership which was working in Lebanon."

Amid this atmosphere, a Lebanese politician sees the new round of internal dialog dialogue will not be conducive to decisive results at this level. The source which asked to be anonymous expected the convening of another session after the Arab summit on Thursday that might produce results.
