Syria proposes dealing with all issues at Arab summit
Syria-Regional, Politics, 3/27/2006
Syria's Information Minister Mohsen Bilal has stressed that Syria is working for achieving a true Arab solidarity to discuss all the Arab issues and find suitable solutions and remedies to them.
In a statement to United Arab Emirates al-Bayan newspaper published Saturday, Bilal said "Syria will call on the Arab summit to continue supporting and funding the Palestinian people besides supporting the unified and independent Iraq."
He expressed Syria's support to the Palestinian people until they liberate their occupied territories and restoring usurped rights.
He asserted Syria's support to Iraq's unity and integrity, pointing out that Syria extended aid to Iraq in order to overcome the repercussions of the war.
On Syrian-Lebanon relations, Bilal said "There is no problem between Syria and Lebanon to be discussed by the Arab summit," adding that the relations between the two states are discussed on "bilateral level."
He expressed hope that the Lebanese national dialogue will succeed in the interest of Syria, noting that "Syria was the only and first to be hurt by the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq al-Hariri, so Syria calls for unveiling the truth through a professional investigation."
