Arab League supports Hamas government
Palestine-Regional, Politics, 3/24/2006

The Arab league AL has promised to continue providing financial aid to the Palestinian authority and even increasing this aid.

In a press conference in al-Khartoum, Sudan, the secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa said that the Arab summit which will convene next Tuesday will adopt a decision for continued and increased financial backing to the Palestinian government.

Moussa considered that the Arab backing for the Palestinians will compensate and exceed by a great amount what is offered by other organizations.

While the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas started an Arab tour that precedes Arab summit, diplomatic sources stressed that the Islamic resistance movement (Hamas) will not be in the Palestinian delegation because it will not by then be represented yet in the Palestinian authority establishments.
