al-Qatrieh: Miqati: political discourse against Syria is unacceptable
Lebanon-Syria, Politics, 3/23/2006
The political discourse by some Lebanese against Syria is unacceptable and immoral, Former Lebanese Premier Najib Miqati said Wednesday. "I feel sorry that Lebanon does not respond to Arab good offices to improve the Syrian-Lebanese relations," he said.
In an interview with al-Qatrieh daily, Miqati called upon the Lebanese government to shoulder responsibility regarding the all stubborn jargons that call to boycott Syria, saying "because Lebanon will be the only harmed party."
Meantime, former Lebanese premier Salim al-Hoss called Tuesday for supporting Syria under the current pressures and circumstances the country has been undergoing.
"The US policy aims at keeping Lebanon and Iraq away from the Arab-Israeli struggle," Hoss said in a statement pointing out at the US intervention in the Lebanese internal affairs.
The Former Lebanese Premier called for adopting balanced and integrate political rules to face all challenges and dangers threatening our nation.
He also underlined the necessity for enhancing the fraternal relations connecting Syria and Lebanon.
