Syrian students celebrate Mother Day across barb wires
Syria-Israel, Politics, 3/22/2006
Tens of Syrian Golan students gathered Tuesday at Aien al-Tena site which overlooks the occupied Syrian town of Majdal Chams to salute their mothers in the occupied Golan on Mother's Day.
Israel has put mine fields and barb wires across Syrian Golan after occupying it in 1967, a matter which has deprived Syrians of Golan from communicating with their relatives.
The student were holding microphones by which they expressed regards and best wishes to their mothers and parents who were waiting for them at the occupied side of the town, carrying Syrian flags and chanting slogans to show adherence to their mother land Syria and to their Arab identity.
They also hailed mothers of Syrian martyrs and detainees in the Israel prisons and to Syrian mothers who are living under the Israeli occupation and suffering all kinds of torment.
"The Israeli occupation prevents us from visiting our parents or making any genuine communication with them the only way to contact our parents is by microphones across all these distances," a student told SANA.
The Syrian students stressed adherence to their mother land Syria, Arab identity and struggle under the wise leadership of President Bashar al-Assad until realizing victory.
