Nazif: religion-based political parties a bad idea

Egypt's Prime minister Ahmed Nazif told BBC's Hard Talk that the Egyptians do not want politcial parties based on religion, race, or color, saying politics on these basis can have negative consequences to society.
Nazif said out said that everyone is entitled to run for office but that Muslim Brotherhood candidates won their seats in parliament as independents and not on a religious-party ticket.
Nazif meantime said that the government did not authorize torture with different detainees during investigations and such acts would be punished.
