US document reveals UAE receiving threat from al-Qaida

A secret American military document revealed that a group affiliated with al-Qaida organization warned the United Arab Emirates four years ago that it will attack its tourism installations if it continues to detain suspects over having links to terrorism and handing them over to the west.

The group which calls itself "al-Jihad Qaida" warned that it had infiltrated in the security forces and financial and monitoring agencies and other installations in the UAE. It said that installations in this country are considered an easy target by the Americans.

This document was issued in 2002, the same year when the UAE arrested Abdul Rahim al-Nashiri the main person convicted to the blowing up the American warship (USS Cole) in the year 2000 in Yemen and then handing him over to the USA.

The UAE continued these acts of detention and in 2004 handed over one Pakistani suspected to have had trained thousands of al-Qaida fighters to Islam Abad.
