11 Iraqis were killed in American raid

At least 11 Iraqis were killed including nine women in one American raid against Balad town situated to the north of Baghdad. This was while the new Iraqi parliament is preparing to convene its first sessions amid tough security measures.

The American army admitted the raid but said in a statement that four persons were only killed in the raid.

On the other hand, the American army confirmed the killing of one of its soldier by "indirect fire" south-west Baghdad on Wednesday evening. Thereby number of persons killed from the American army staff and employees increased to 2310 since the invasion of Iraq in 2003, according to statistics based to data of the US defense department.

For its party, the Muslims Scholars Commission said that the Iraqi army arrested more than 100 persons in Abu Ghreib area west of Baghdad and 25 persons in Babel city. It also said that gunmen assassinated Hussein Turkey Omeir, Imam of al-Miqdadeyah mosque.
